NordVPN Review (2026): Is the Marketing-Hyped VPN Actually Fast and Private?

We tested NordVPN’s speed, security, and real-world usability over three weeks.

Why People Buy It

NordVPN is one of the most-advertised VPNs, boasting 6,000+ servers, strong encryption, and extras like Meshnet and a password manager.

The Good

• Excellent speeds. Minimal slowdown on nearby servers.
• Strong security & no-logs policy (independently audited).
• Good kill switch and app reliability.
• Extra features (dual VPN, obfuscation) are genuinely useful.

The Bad

• Price. Renewal rates after intro discounts jump sharply.
• Overlapping products (NordPass, NordLocker) can get confusing.
• Not a full anonymity tool — it’s a privacy tool, not invisibility.
• Customer support is decent but sometimes slow.

Who Should Get It

Streamers wanting geo-unblocking, public-WiFi users, and privacy-conscious travelers. Not for people seeking a free VPN.

Final Verdict

8/10 — One of the best all-round VPNs, if you catch the intro price. Fast, secure, and reliable. Set a calendar reminder to renegotiate the renewal.
